Hepatitis A is easily spread virus that causes liver swelling and damage. People have become sick after: eating food prepared by people who were sick, going to jail, injecting drugs or using street drugs (including pain killers), close contact with someone who has hepatitis A, paying for sex or trading sex for money. Contact your helath care provider, your pharmacy, or your local public health department (Macomb 586-469-5372 or www.macomgov.org/publichealth).
