FUNDEMENTAL OF ALCOHOL AND OTHER DRUG PROBLEMS (FAODP) Exam
The FAODP is no longer offered as of June 2009.

Michigan Addiction Fundamentals Exam (MAFE) will be offered as an entry-level exam based on SAMSHA's Tap 21. This was developed by the Southern Coast Addiction Technology Transfer Center (SCATTC) and the Florida Certification Board (FCB). Test Metric, Inc. conducted the Role Delineation Study for this exam through contract with SCATTC. MCOSA will no longer have a role in the administration of any of the exams. All future questions regarding these exams should be directed to MCBAP.

MAFE Information:
Exam registration fee is $80 - registration forms are available via MCBAP (www.mcbap.com)
Two hours are allotted to complete the exam
100 multiple-choice questions
35 specific education contract hours can be earned if passed
Scoring will be done through Test Metric, Inc.
Administered in conjunction with the IC&RC quarterly in Okemos, Troy, Gaylord and Marquette
Study Guides will be available through MCBAP website
The first scheduled exam date is Friday, September 11, 2009

ADDICTION / PREVENTION STUDY OPPORTUNITIES
The following is a list of colleges and universities in the state of Michigan offering specializations in Addiction/Prevention Studies. These programs offer a certificate, minor or degree in Addiction/Prevention and offer a minimum of 18 credits at various educational levels depending on the college. Most of the listed programs curriculum includes the trans-disciplinary foundations outlined in SAMSHA’s Tap 21. Completion of anyone of these programs could meet the educational requirements for MCBAP certification.  Please contact the universities for additional information.
